A Complete or Comprehensive Valuation is an independent engagement,
unlimited in scope, expressing an opinion as to the value of a business,
business interest or security. This engagement is conducted in accordance
with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP),
and embraces all procedures and standards enumerated by IRS Revenue
Ruling 59-60. This valuation is presented in the form of both an executive
summary and a narrative report. The valuation will opine as to a specific
opinion of value derived from a single specific method of valuation and
supported by well-documented research and empirical studies. Quoted on
a Flat Fee basis.
A Limited Valuation is also an independent engagement, but is "moderately
restricted" in scope, though still expressing a single opinion as to the value
of a business, business interest or security. The scope of the engagement,
though, only incorporates those procedures enumerated within the valuation
agreement and generates a valuation summary and narrative report that is
restricted to the sole use and benefit of the client for the specific purpose as
stated in the agreement. Quoted on a Flat Fee basis.
A Calculation of Valuation is "severely restricted" in scope, expressing an
opinion as to an "approximate indication of value" of a business based upon
the performance of limited procedures. While this approach would probably
not hold up to scrutiny under most circumstances, it will provide, at low cost,
a reasonable value or range of values for both buyers and sellers of business.
Quoted on a Flat Fee basis.
An Economic Damages engagement involves the quantification of economic
or monetary losses actually incurred. Such losses may have resulted from a
variety of occurrences including medical expenses, personal injury, wrongful
death, employment discrimination, breach of contract, fraud or patent
infringement, amongst others. Quoted on an Hourly Fee basis.
A Litigation Support engagement includes expert testimony, reviews of other
appraisals, critiques of other reports, depositions and trial questions for
opposing experts and providing visual aids for trail. Quoted on an Hourly
Fee basis.
